The new Kolpinghaus Alsergrund
The new Kolpinghaus Alsergrund welcomed its first new residents in September 2022! Our building offers modern living spaces for students (aged 18 and above) and seniors in a beautiful, central location. We also lease seminar and event rooms as well as underground parking spaces, and we’re seeking tenants for business premises that can be individually developed.

The Kolpinghaus is located on Althanstraße 51 at Alsergrund in the 9th district, one of the most beautiful districts in Vienna. Our building is centrally located and offers excellent transportation connections. Three subway stations are within walking distance: U6 Nußdorfer Straße, U4/U6 Spittelau and U4 Friedensbrücke. And the D streetcar line stops directly in front of the building. Vienna’s major universities are accessible by public transportation in 5–25 minutes.
And the inner-city green and recreational areas offer nearby opportunities to relax, such as the Danube Canal, the Liechtensteinpark, the Währinger Park, and the sports and leisure area of Vienna’s Danube Island.
The Kolpinghaus is close to many supermarkets (some of which are open on Sunday), restaurants, bars, and various opportunities for shopping and strolling. All of it is within walking or biking distance.

… that’s tradition in the Kolpinghaus Alsergrund. For 125 years, the Kolpinghaus has been a place of diversity and a temporary home to students from the different regions of Austria and the entire world. The old building was torn down in 2018 and completely rebuilt in recent years (after some delay caused by the pandemic).
The new residents can expect bright rooms with large windows (and balconies on the courtyard side) along with modern, cozy furnishings – an ideal environment for learning and well-being.
Common rooms and kitchens on the different floors invite you to cook, eat, and sit together. In addition, our residents have access to a fitness room, a music room, a washroom with multiple washing machines and dryers, a quiet room, a large, green inner courtyard, and WLAN.

Living for seniors
6 residential units
In a separate living area, on the 1st floor of the building section on Althanstrasse, we lease 6 residential units to seniors who would like to live independently but still within a community. Each of the bright residential units has 30 m.2 A large community kitchen is available for joint ventures.
Living space for young and old
If you like, you can meet with the students in the building’s common areas to enjoy each other’s company.
Seminars & Events
The large event room with modern furnishings and a total of 370 m2 of floor space offers suitable conditions for various events, seminars, and occasions.
The large hall has space for up to 300 people and can be divided into two or three units:
- The large hall with 220 m2 can be divided into 110 m2 each
- A smaller hall with 150 m2 (with access to the terrace on the vestibule)
To make your event successful, we offer:

On the ground floor of the new Kolpinghaus, up to 400 m2 of leasable retail space is available. Flexible solutions can also be arranged!
